1996 Glimmer of Hope✨

1996 Glimmer of Hope emerged from a deep human connection. After twenty-eight years of development, our mission is to raise awareness about the vital importance of preserving and honoring the bond between the United States and Israel. We aim to provide profound insights into our shared democratic values and the strong, unified relationship between the two nations. We are committed to supporting and empowering families affected by the events of October 7th, countering the dehumanization of Israel, and increasing awareness about the programs we are involved in to help rebuild and maintain Israel’s essence.

Our goal is to foster human connections, and support Israel’s recovery through volunteer initiatives, and provide resources about nonprofit organizations in evacuated communities. The mission is to protect Israel as the only democracy in the Middle East, safeguard global freedom, and combat the dehumanization of its population.

White Rose Society Recipient: Janna Tusa

Founder Janna Tusa Altenburg is a White Rose Society Winner!

The White Rose Society is an initiative born in the wake of
October 7, 2023, founded by leaders from foundations,
synagogues, and nonprofits in Atlanta, GA. It was created to
recognize and honor those who refused to stay silent in the face of
rising antisemitism, and the attacks on Israel and the Jewish
People.

Why 1996 ?✨

In 1996, Janna had the privilege of immersing herself into the Israeli culture and experiencing all of its beauty and wonder. She was one of the few United States America-Israel Friendship League delegates selected to travel 5,700 miles to develop deep relationships, expand her awareness of international affairs, and increase her appreciation for diversity and tolerance between Israelis and Americans. This life changing experience inspires her to fight against the dehumanization of Israelis.
